Sanssouci Palace in Potzdam Germany. Looks nice!!

Potsdam is one of the city in Brandenburg, and very famous and important in the history. But the city is famous as sightseeing spot in EU countries also. Especially in summer season, many people visit the place. I think one of their purposes of visiting Potsdam is to see the Sanssouci palace. It was constructed in 1745 by Frederick the great. The palace is very beautiful, and the park is very large. So I recommend you to have enough time to visit there. Of course, you can see the inside of the palace, if you buy the ticket.

1      How to go to Sanssouci

If you go there from “Haupt Bahnhof Berlin”, it is very convenient to get on ”S7”. (“S” means S-Bahn) And you get off the train at Potsdam Haupt Bahnhof. After getting off the train, you get on bus”695” or “X15” bounding for “Schloss Sanssouci”. 
As for ticket, you buy "A-B-C ticket". You can transfer to bus with the ticket, if you transfer within 2 hours.

In case you go there by car, there are many parking lots.  It costs about 2 Euro per hour. (It depends on the place.)

After buying ticket, you need to insert the ticket into this machine to stamp the date.

2      Ticket for the palace information 

If you don’t go into these buildings, you don’ t have to pay the fee. If you have plans to go into these buildings, you should check the closing date before you go there. I heard it is closed on Monday (But you can see the buildings from outside.) . Anyway it is better to check before you go there. The fee of entrance is 12 Euro (8 Euro for student.).  In some cases, you have to make a line.

3      Tips for the trip

Almost all of the supermarkets are closed in Germany on Sunday. So, it is better to buy drinks in the supermarket “Kaisers” in the Haupt Bahnhof Berlin before you get on S-Bahn train, if you want to spare your money. The supermarket in the Haupt Bahnhof Berlin opens on Sunday. Especially in summer, you should take some drinks, so you don’t have much opportunities to buy reasonable drinks around Sanssouci palace. That’s why it might be better to buy it before you go there, if you spare your money.

4      Restaurant 

Fortunately I found a restaurant around “The new palace”. The dishes tasted very good !!

Kassel Germany beautiful place to visit 2016

Today I’d like to show you the pictures of the Wilhelmshöhe park in Kassel, Germany. There are many beautiful spots in the park, so I couldn’t put all of the pictures on my blog at last time. 2   Restaurant near the park in Kassel Germany

 I found the restaurant near the hotel. The name of the restaurant is "GUTSHOF". The address is "Wilhelmshöher Allee 347a, 34131 Kassel " Tel 0561-32525. The service was very nice and the quality of the dishes were also good. But the price was a little bit expensive. Anyway, if you go to the park, I recommend you the restaurant. 

The inside of the restaurant was comfortable.

The Rumpsteak with sauce was very good. 22.40 EURO

This is tomato soup. 5.40 EURO  Taste very good !!

Other than above, you can choose many kinds of German dishes.

3  Spa information near the Wilhelmshöhe in Kassel, Germany

Kassel Germany travel information and beautiful spots to visit 1

I’d like to write about Kassel Germany today. Kassel is one of the city of “the German fairy tale Route” in the middle of Germany. The city Kassel has a lot of cultures and history, and the city is very famous for “the Wilhelmshöhe park”. Especially “Kaskaden” is one of the famous spots in the park in Kassel Germany. On the top of Kaskaden, you can see the statue of Heracles. The scenery from the top of Kaskaden is wonderful, you can enjoy to see the great landscape. I want you to take a look at the scenery. In addition, you can enjoy to watch many historic buildings in the park. I want to write about the city several times.

1  How to go to Kassel, Wilhelmshöhe

①    If you go there from Frankfurt, “ICE ”  is convenient, I think. “ICE” is the express train in Germany. It takes about 1 hour 25 minutes from Frankfurt to the Kassel- Wilhelmshöhe station. As you make a reservation for ICE earlier, the fee of the train will be more reasonable. If you decide to go there by ICE, you should make reservation for it as soon as possible.

②    If you rend a car in Frankfurt, it is very good idea, I think. Because you can visit many places like the other fairy tale Route city aside from Kassel around there. Actually time is one of the most important things for you. So, during the trip for the area, in some cases, car is more convenient than train.

2    Accommodations

Several hotels are along the Wilhelmshöher allee (street name). It is very convenient to go to the Wilhelmshöhe park from the street. In my case, I stayed in the “Schloss hotel ” near the park. It costed about 150 Euro (2 adults, 2 kids). We could walk in the park early in the morning easily before the breakfast.  The walk early in the morning was very comfortable.
 “Schloss hotel ” was very nice. The room was comfortable, clean and the service was also good. And the breakfast was so delicious.

3    The Wilhelmshöhe park in Kassel Germany

Near the hotel we stayed, there is a very big park. It is the Wilhelmshöhe park. I was very impressed with the great view and fresh air and atmosphere. The nature of the park is organized very much, so, it’s beautiful. If you go around all of the park, it takes at least several hours. Especially when you go to the top of the “Kaskaden”, you should have enough time. (Next time I show you the other pictures.)
